Firefox Flicks Video Contest

Video Contest Info:

Mozilla the makers behind Firefox need some help to tell their amazing story and want you to create a video about one of these 4 issues: Privacy, Choice, Interoperability, and Opportunity. Your video should help people better understand the issues facing them online and shows how Firefox helps them deal with these issues. The categories are Best :30 Spot, Best Animation, Best Use of New Technology, Best Public Service Announcement. To see the full creative brief click here.

Prize:

The grand prize winner in each region (North America, Latin America, EU and Asia, Australia & New Zealand) will receive their choice of either $5,000 in video equipment or a film school scholarship plus flick could be used to share the amazing story of Firefox with the world. The top two winners in each category get $1,000 in video equipment. Top category winners for each region and the grand prize winner will also get a trip to a Firefox Flicks event in 2012. Any video that makes it into the contest will get a Firefox prize pack.

Rules:

Open to anyone in world. You can submit as many videos as you like. It is It is mandatory that you use the Firefox logo which can be found in their brand toolkit.

60 Second Science Video Contest 2012

Video Contest Info:

The aim of the 60 Second Science video contest it to "celebrate ability to better understand our world around us" and they want you to create a short video that explains an Invention, an Experiment, a Science Concept or an idea. You 60 seconds or less video should be Science based and must explain the science, not just demonstrate a phenomena. Everyone who wants to take part has to register on the 60 Second Science website prior to 1st August 2012 and submit their video by 26th August 2012.

Prize:

$10,000 in cash prizes will be distributed between different categories, all of which can be seen on the prizes page. there are special categories for Australian residents.

Rules:

A consent form must be submitted for any person who is visually identifiable in the video. The entrant retains copyright over their work. Full rules can be seen on the official rules page.

YouTube - Your Film Festival

Video Contest Info:

To enter you need to create and submit a video which is no longer than 15 minutes in length. The object of the contest is to "celebrate the power of storytelling, with a focus on creativity and narrative". Your video can be in any format - short film, web-series episode, TV pilot - and any genre.

Prize:

In June, audiences around the world will vote, sending 10 deserving storytellers to open the 2012 Venice Film Festival where a Grand Prize Winner will be be rewarded with a $500,000 grant to create a new work, produced by Ridley Scott and his world class team.

Rules:

Must be aged over 18 or older than the age of majority in your location to enter. The Competition is not open to residents of Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Myanmar/Burma, Syria, Zimbabwe and/or any other U.S. sanctioned country. UN IYC 2012 Co-op Arts Competition

Video Contest Info:

This contest has a video, photography and music category and are looking for entries that "that promote the principles of co-operation in a way attractive to young people to raise their awareness about the co-operative movement worldwide." For the video category your entry must be a length of no less than two and no more than three minutes. Entries should be submitted using this online form.

Prize:

1st prize in each category gets $3,000 USD and a trip to Manchester, UK in November 2012. 2nd place in each category gets $1,500 USD and 3rd place gets a tablet personal computer.

Rules:

Entrants must be between the ages of 16 and 35. Each participant can only submit one project in each category. By submitting a video, participants will immediately and automatically transfer all relevant intellectual property rights to ICA. The full terms can be read here.

To enter this contest you have to make a video that is 5 minutes or less in length which tells American DJ what your favorite song is and why. Videos will be judged on the quality and originality of the story. Completed videos should be submitted as a video reponse to this video.

Prize:

The grand prize winner receives DJ Equipment worth more than $1,000 including a American Audio VMS4.1 Midi Station, Arriba AS-190 Midi Controller Gig Bag and more. There are also prizes for 2nd to 5th plus 5 runners up prizes of HP-550 Colored Headphones.

1st Annual Karat Proposal Video Contest

To enter you have to film a wedding proposal, but don't worry as you can film an original idea, re-enact a proposal or even film a real proposal. Videos should be 3 minutes in length or under. Completed videos should be submitted to the Karat.com along with all the required documentation.

Prize:

There is a grand prize available of $1,000.

Open only to individuals over the age of 18 who are legal residents of the United States who are at least 18 years old.
