Create a video of up to 2 minutes in length which shows your roommate excellence and illustrates what makes you America's most desirable roommate. the contest is split up into 4 categories which are The Lovable Compulsive, The Purr-fect Pet Owner, The Envirometalist and The All-Star Roomie. Your video must include footage of you and a statement within the first 20 seconds indicating that the video is being submitted for the Apartments.com Roommate of the Year contest. Submit your video to the Roommate of the Year website. There is also a "Video Shorts" contest running alongside this contest to win a $250 gift card each week by submitting a 30 second video by showcasing one of your amazing roomie feats which can be seen here.
The grand prize winner receives free rent for a year valued at $10,000, plus an additional $10,000, in a single check for a total of $20,000.00. There are also 4 runners up prizes who will each receive a check for $500.00.
Rules:Open only to natural persons who are legal residents of the United States and the District of Columbia (excluding Alaska, Hawaii, Tennessee, U.S. territories and U.S. military installations). Must be at least 18 years of age as of April 2, 2012. One entry per person. Winners agree to make yourself available for promotional appearances.

Other Lives - Dust Bowl III Music Video Contest

Other Lives have had a great start to 2012 being on tour with Bon Iver and Radiohead. They are on the lookout for a great music video to go with their song Dust Bowl III over on the Genero.tv site. This video will become the official video for the track with the director winning the prize money. They will only accept videos which are a minimum of 1280x720, or even better if 1920x1080 at a 16:9 or wider ratio and under 300MB in size.You can download the track to use only in your video from the video contest page once registered/logged in to Genero.tv
The winning music video directer will receive $3,000 and have their video become the official music video.
Rules:Over 18 years of age only, if either aged 13 or over or considered a minor in your country you must have parental or guardian permission. In the event that an entrant's video is chosen as the winning video then that entrant assigns all rights title and interest in its video to Genero.tv in perpetuity.

DepicT! 90 Second Super-Short Filmmaking Contest

"Can you do it in 90 seconds?" That is what DepicT are challenging you to do by submitting super-short films which are no longer than 90 seconds in length (including titles and credits). The rules state that you can enter films utilizing all production techniques, including animation, documentary, drama, experimental or artist film and hybrid work. Completed short films should be uploaded to this page.
The winning filmmaker of the DepicT! 2012 Award wins £1500 cash and UK distribution of the winning film through the Digital Screen Network plus lifetime membership to and bundle of goodies from Shooting People. The winning filmmaker of the Shooting People DepicT! 2012 Audience Award wins a lifetime membership to Shooting People plus UK distribution of the winning film through the Digital Screen Network. There are also other prizes/awards for a British Special Mention and shortlisted entrants.
Rules:Only films completed since September 2011 may be submitted. They do not accept advertisements. The maximum number of entries per individual is ten. The DepicT! British Special Mention Award is open to UK productions only.
