Frequently Asked Questions

This F.A.Q is for users of this site. If there is anything you need help with that isn't answered on this page the please contact us.

What is the purpose of Film Comps?
Our purpose is to list film and video contests that we find on the internet, so that video directors of all different types can easily and quickly find a good contest to enter. It also enables you to quickly at a glance see the latest contests without having to do multiple and time lengthy searches on various search engines and social networks.

Do you run these contests?
No we do not run the contests we list, we find them on other sites and link to them for your benefit making sure we include all the important info. Each contest is run by the website that we are linking to. If we are involved in the running of a contest we will clearly label that on the contest and the contest listing will link to a page on this site.

Can I get my video contest listed on the site?
If your contest meets certain standards then yes, please submit it to us.

What standard does the contest have to meet to get listed?
It has to look like the contest is being run decently, have a proper contest page and rules but most importantly we decide on whether to list it by asking ourselves "will our visitors will be interested in it?".

Why do you list contests that cost money to enter?
Because some of our visitors may want to know about them, we notify you in red font color if the contest costs money to enter.

What are notable rules?
We don't list every rule for each contest, instead we just look for the rules we feel are important such as age and country limitations, copyright ownership and anything else which may be of importance or sticks out as not being a 'normal' contest rule.
