YouTube - Your Film Festival

Video Contest Info:

To enter you need to create and submit a video which is no longer than 15 minutes in length. The object of the contest is to "celebrate the power of storytelling, with a focus on creativity and narrative". Your video can be in any format - short film, web-series episode, TV pilot - and any genre.

Prize:

In June, audiences around the world will vote, sending 10 deserving storytellers to open the 2012 Venice Film Festival where a Grand Prize Winner will be be rewarded with a $500,000 grant to create a new work, produced by Ridley Scott and his world class team.

Rules:

Must be aged over 18 or older than the age of majority in your location to enter. The Competition is not open to residents of Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Myanmar/Burma, Syria, Zimbabwe and/or any other U.S. sanctioned country. In this video contest you have to use the online video editing tools on Memplai to create and edit your video and then share it with your friends. The video with the most likes becomes the winner.

Mens Health Viral Video Contest

The Men's Health Initiative of British Columbia are looking for a funny and informative 30 second video which will help to educate young men about healthy living habits. The main message of the video should be "Find out your family medical history" and secondly "Know what kind of man you are made of. ". Reporters Without Borders Student Video Contest

Video Contest Info:

Reporters Without Borders is challenging US college students to create a video PSA of up to 50-seconds to help raise awareness about press freedom. Video entries should answer the question "Why should we care about press freedom?” The are looking for something that is creative, professional, and has enough impact to not only catch the viewers attention, but make them absorb the message, even after the video is off the air. Prize:

The winners PSA will air on CNN on May 3, 2012 and the winner may get an internship with Reporters Without Borders if you are able. Also, Reporters Without Borders will honor you at a press conference that day, and pay for travel and accommodations to New York City for up to three of your team members.

Video contest is only open to students enrolled full or part time in an accredited university located in the United States who are 18 years of age or older and a legal resident of the 50 United States.

My View: The Asia-Pacific Video Contest

The Asian Development Bank - My View video contest is a micro documentary competition looking for 1 to 5 minute digital film all about renewable energy. Films are accepted in any production value including mobile phone and films of any genre but the content of the video must be about renewable energy, energy for all, or another energy-related theme in Asia and the Pacific. This video contest has two categories which are Youth (under 21) and Open (21 and over). Completed videos should be uploaded to YouTube or Youku.com, tagged with "ADB MyView." and submitted to their online registration form.

Prize:

Grand prize (best overall) wins $3,000 USD. 1st place in all categories wins $2,000, 2nd place in all categories wins $1,000 and 3rd place in all categories wins $500.

Open only to ADB member countries can partipate, these countries can be seen here. Films produced and/or screened prior to 21 November 2011 will not be accepted. Films are accepted in any production value including mobile phone and films of any genre. Entrants may submit more than one entry. 2012 OECD Global Youth Video Competition

Video Contest Info:

OECD are looking for a short video that is no longer than 3 minutes on the theme of Education and Skills and what are the big issues are today? Is it learning the right skills to get a job, bridging the 'digital divide', tackling inequality in access to education and training, inspiring creativity and innovation, or something else? Completed entries should be uploaded to YouTube and then the link submitted through the OECD registration form.

Prize:

Three winning videos selected by Jury will win an all expenses-paid trip to Paris, France to attend the OECD Forum on 22-24 May 2012. If a winning video is a group effort, then a nominated representative will be invited to Paris.

Rules:

To be eligible for prizes, you must be aged between 18 and 25 years during the period of this competition (14 December 2011 to 31 March 2012).
